Little Star Preschool "Too" is our second location, located at 1105 Quintara Street. Pictured here are our three outdoor dramatic play areas - great for a quieter moment with a few friends or to keep warm on a foggy San Francisco day.
The interior of one of our three child-sized playhouses situated in the yard. We have a market, a fire station, and a cottage that sometimes doubles as a quiet library space!
Children love to pedal their friends around on this two-seater!
Our sandbox has several permanent structures within it: a small house, and airplane and car to climb in and ride, and a seesaw. From dinosaurs to shovels and pails, cups and sieves, tables and blocks, there's something for everyone!
Other areas of our spacious yard include several basketball hoops of different heights, cars, bicycles, and scooters, and a large sandbox.
Our play structure, great for climbing, sliding, and peek-a-boo!
Daisy Room cubbies & "blue bags," where children's spare clothes, emergency snacks, and contact info are kept.
Our recently updated library holds books for children to browse and borrow in easy to access, color-coded, themed bins. Special collections include Chinese language books, seasonal books, and books on CD.
One area of the "Daisy Room" - the smaller of our two classrooms at Little Star "Too" - set up for morning play time with manipulative toys and library books.
In the Daisy Room, children learn about months and days at calendar time in the morning.
The play house area of the Daisy Room, which is open every morning with a different choice of dramatic play. Tables are set with puzzles, manipulatives, or fine motor activities.
The Daisy Room's art center. Colorful projects made by the children surround us in a fun, receptive environment for learning and playing.
The Daisy Room's child-friendly bathroom, always decorated with colorful artwork.
The Sunflower Room - the larger of our two classrooms - set up for an art project.
The skylight in the Sunflower Room shines over the play house and science areas, where we currently have a display on the life cycle of a butterfly.
From planting seeds to reading books, doing step-by-step drawings, and acting out life cycles, this science unit reached all different developmental stages and learning styles.
The Sunflower Room's art center, all set up for morning free play time, complete with a friendly "Recycle Monster" to help us care for both our classroom and our earth.
Cars and trucks are a time-honored favorite among our students, and are often available for morning free play or on rainy afternoons.
The Sunflower Room's pet turtle, Noodle! The children observe his feedings and learn about him at Center Time.
